Lucy- Miniature Schnauzer

Lucy

6 Year Old Female

Miniature Schnauzer

Lucy is a complex girl who has had a couple of false starts, please READ FULLY her write up, we want to ensure that Lucy goes to a home able to help her to continue to progress and whom understand her needs.  This girl has been through enough and needs a forever home dedicated to ensuring her future is bright.

This little lady is fearful of most things currently, including the harness or lead, it will take someone with unlimited amounts of patience to help her to progress to walking on lead and enjoying life once again.  We understand many will feel able to help her but the sad reality is she needs an extra special home and family.  As an ex breeding dog she has lacked all of the “normal” exposure that pet dogs go through including human interaction.

She is clean in the house and is secure in her current environment, Lucy will come for fuss and is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with the other dogs and her foster mum.  She will bond with people but needs careful handling and patience, she wont be “fixed” in a day a week or potentially months.  Please only apply if you are in it for the long haul and honestly have the time and dedication Lucy deserves.  If pushed too fast then Lucy will react and has the potential to bite if handled incorrectly.  Her reactions are fear based and with correct handling she is a sweet girl who is enjoying life.

Lucy will need new owners who are around for most of the day, as she is so nervous older teenagers only please and of course she must be re homed with at least one other resident dog in the home who is social and well adjusted.  The other dog/s will help Lucy to continue to improve and go forward with her new life.  Lucy can over bond with one person so will be better in a multi career household that is still relatively quiet.  Lots of visitors overwhelm her and she then becomes unsure and unsettled.

Lucy has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, she is up to date with flea and worming treatment and has also had a full dental.  She is currently being fostered in Uckfield East Sussex.
