Volunteer

Love dogs & have time to spare?

Pro Dogs Direct is run almost entirely by volunteers and we couldn’t do what we do for our dogs without them.  Our volunteers perform a wide range of roles including admin, fundraising, transport, home checking and, of course, fostering our dogs when they come into rescue – looking after them in their own homes until we find the ideal forever home for each one.

It goes without saying that our volunteers love dogs and, whatever their role with us, they know they are playing a vital part in saving dogs and securing happier futures for them.

As we expand to rescue more dogs we need more volunteers.  If you’d like to help, take a look at the current opportunities below; some roles are specific to an individual volunteer, others are open to many.  Whatever your particular skill set, if you have a few hours to spare each week and would like to support our work, we’d love to hear from you.

Current Volunteering Vacancies

Dog Fostering:

Taking on and caring for a rescue dog isn’t for everyone but if you think it might be for you please visit our Foster Page to find out more about the role and how to apply.

Home Checkers:

We need to make sure that every home whether foster or forever is suitable for our dogs.  As a home checker you will be talking to prospective foster carers and adopters, checking that the information they have given about their home and lifestyle is correct and suitable for our dogs.  You will then prepare and submit a home check report for our Trustees to enable them to make informed decisions.  If you have more time available we are also looking to recruit a volunteer Assistant Home Check Coordinator to support our current Home Check Coordinator as we get busier.
